Dowsing

Dowsing

In this area we will explore the art of dowsing starting off with pendulums. In time I will add other forms of dowsing.

Pendulums

People use pendulums to find illness on a body, for answers from their higher selves, to contact angel and spirit guides as well as for mundane answers in everyday life. A pendulum is simply a weighted object suspended on a cord or chain. There are many different types, it is personal preference as to which is best, though beginners would probably find a weighted pendulum works better than a hollow one. Using a pendulum for scrying is simple and only requires you to relax and concentrate on the pendulum giving you yes/no/maybe answers. It does take practice so do a little each day.

One of the methods of doing this is to suspend the chain or string the body of the pendulum is hanging from, from your fingers and rest your elbow on a solid surface (like a table). It is suggested that the chain be held between the ring and middle finger as this aids the true energy of the answer to channel through.  The suggested length of chain is 1½ to 3 inches of chain. You can programme it by swinging it clockwise and declaring that this is the direction for YES. Now swing it anticlockwise and declare that this is the NO direction. Once done, you can begin asking questions.  Always start the pendulum gently swinging backwards and forwards. The ask your question in a way that can be answered yes or no. If the pendulum continues to swing backwards and forwards then the answer is maybe or rephrase your question.

Alternately, you can use a pendulum oracle such as the ones below made by Taryn for us. First you will need to programme the pendulum to the oracle. You hold the pendulum as described above over the centre of the oracle. Swing the pendulum over the Yes direction and say out loud,

"Every time you swing in this direction the answer is YES".

Now swing the pendulum over the No direction and declare,

"Every time you swing over this direction, the answer will be NO"

Now swing it over the Uncertain (Maybe) direction and declare,

"Every time you swing in this direction, it will indicate Ready to Answer a Question.   If you keep swinging in this direction after the question is asked it will indicate Uncertain. You will be used only for the Highest Good. Thank you".

Check to see if the programming has worked by asking a question that has a yes or no answer like "Is my name.....?" If it answers wrongly then reprogramme the pendulum.

Now programme it so that it can advise you whether you should be dowsing in a certain area by declaring:

"May I is to mean: Do I have appropriate permission to proceed and be involved?

Can I means: Do I have the ability to successfully dowse in this area and am I ready?

Should I means: Considering all aspects related to this situation would it be appropriate, proper and suitable to dowse in this area? End of program, thank you."

When asking questions, always start the pendulum swinging in the maybe/uncertain direction then ask your question. As before, only ask questions that can be answered YES or NO otherwise you will get an UNCERTAIN or REPHRASE. Also, sometimes the higher source you are asking the question of ie your guides or guardians or angels (depending on your path) might not want to answer which is why some oracles have DNW on them. If so leave it for another time.

Always dowse for the best good of others.  Never try to use this gift for evil or selfish gain however it's OK to dowse for your or others needs. When starting a reading having programmed your pendulum ask:

"May I....(insert the area you are exploring)?

Should I (insert the area you are exploring)?

Can I (insert the area you are exploring)?"

and see if the answer is Yes or No before continuing.

Once you are proficient in the basic yes/no questions you can go on to can use the numbers on a chart to indicate amounts, distance or percentage whilst the letters you can use to spell out the answer to a specific question.
