This is one of the most important
things that you need to do before undertaking any rituals or meditations. It is
how you focus yourself and exclude outside influences that might disrupt your
work. You also need to be really clear and focused when undertaking a
visualization work.
The other reason is that if you
are not centred and grounded, when you finish your work, you may find yourself
disorientated, nauseated, dizzy and exhausted plus headaches are common,
especially if you fall asleep!
So how do you centre yourself? The
techniques are simple but sometimes take a little practice to reach a state of
calm.
Get yourself comfortable and
breathe deeply and slowly for the count of 10. Visualize a golden light coming
from the universe on into the top of your head. The light fills your body moving
downwards and out through your feet. The light pushes into the earth going deep
into the core of the earth, forming roots keeping you safely attached to the
earth. You are now grounded. Feel how stable you feel.
Now it is time to open your
chakras. Starting at the crown of your head, open the crown chakra. You can do
this this in several ways... you can see your chakra as a spinning globe or as a
flower opening or what ever feels best for you but the colours are always the
same for the individual chakras (use the link at the bottom for more information
on chakras):
Golden for crown, purple for third
eye, blue for throat chakra, green or pink for heart chakra, yellow for solar
plexus, orange for naval and red for solar plexus chakra.
The position of each chakra is as
in the diagram below
For this I will use the flower idea to
explain. See the flower open and feel that chakra allow energy and information
to flow through it. Move onto the third eye seeing the flower open. Repeat until
the base chakra flower is open. Now see colours from each flower swirl around
you until you have a rainbow of light covering you. Sometimes if you have a
blockage you might have problems opening a chakra. This is discussed in crystal
healing. However, this will not stop you from being able to meditate or
undertake rituals, The only problem is that it can hard to integrate physical
knowledge and experience with the higher spiritual centres.
So you are now grounded and centred And can
start to undertake visualization or your meditation/ritual work. When you have
finished, close the chakras one at a time in reverse order... see the flowers
closing and then allow the light of the universe flow through you again and into
the ground to root deeply. Breathe deeply for 10, open your eyes and contemplate
for a few minutes what you felt and learned or experienced. This way you wont
get dizzy by jumping straight up. Now go and eat something to ground yourself
completely.

An Alternate way which will help by grounding your
Aura:
How To Ground Your Aura
Grounding your aura is very simple. You are connected to the Earth (whether you
like it or not). The Earth is not ethereal unless you want it to be. Grounding
is another way of strengthening your aura. Simple sit on the floor (or stand,
lay, crouch for all I care and visualize energetic (or tree roots) extending
from your feet/body into the ground. Feel the energy flowing into the earth,
your polluted energy, your stress flowing into the core, burning away,
recycling. Visualize the energy flowing back out of the core, flowing back into
you, flowing into your charkas and regenerating your body systems. Recommended
daily.
